S. B. Woods

About the Artist

Performance has always informed Woods’ work. Beginning in the 1980’s in NYC, her work has evolved from pure movement interests as a solo performer to making the sets for her performances which included sculpture, sound and the use of text. Woods has performed in NYC at Roulette, The Whitney Museum, The Kitchen, St.Mark’s Church, Dixon Place, The Judson Church, PSI One Island City, The Dia Art Foundation and the 92 Street Y. Her installations have been seen at The National Cathedral in DC, The Dalton Art center in Ohio. and at the Science and Art Museum in Minnesota. She has toured internationally performing at the Kunsthalle in Basil Switzerland and the Rote Fabric. Recently Woods’ work was seen at the Senate Garage in Kingston, NY.
